If you missed it last February, here’s your chance to take advantage of a very special art trip to Marrakech in early 2025, from January 30 to February 2. During this week, the renowned art fair 1-54 puts a bright spotlight on the best contemporary art coming from the African continent and its diaspora.
At Dar Kawa, the riad at this time will be reserved for guests seeking to join our art safari. For three filled days and evenings, our very own Celine Pissoort will be guiding and enlightening you on the inspiring cultural landscape of Marrakech. Coupling selectively with the VIP program of art fair 1-54 and then veering off with local movers and shakers, the itinerary includes visits to various artist studios and cultural highlights not to be missed, in addition to private events and dinners hosted by those who shape the Moroccan cultural landscape. And of course we will be taking full advantage of the exceptional culinary scene in Marrakech, not to mention our own in-house chef Saida.

During the most recent edition, we were joined by a wonderful group of art enthusiasts, prominent collectors, and arts professionals alike. One of those individuals even inspired a collaboration with Valérie on an art project promoting breast cancer awareness in Morocco. To learn more about the “Boobies” project and reserve your spot on our art escapade, please send a note of enquiry.
Among other hats, Céline Pissoort is the co-manager of Dar Kawa’s artist-in-residence program and a veteran of the contemporary art scene in Europe and Southeast Asia. An art aficionado who travels often to Morocco, Céline has twice raced in the renowned Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles. In Brussels she holds posts with various private collections. As the founder of VIETNAMOI, she leads bespoke collectors’ trips to Vietnam, where she lived for 10 years and worked as associate director at Galerie Quynh, one of the region’s pioneering art spaces. Céline’s adventurous spirit, broad experience traveling the world and expertise in international art makes her the ideal guide for this special journey.
